Why people keep our number
Roofing help that keeps things clear & honest
Leaks, loose tiles and worn rooflines turn into a headache fast — especially when you can't get a straight answer. We keep it simple, start to finish.
Real work, real difference
Drag the handle —
this is what we do
An extension roof in Erdington: moss-covered, failing felt on the left; the same roof re-covered in EPDM with twin rooflights on the right.

How it works
Three steps. No surprises.
Call and tell us what's wrong
A small leak or visible storm damage — explain what you've noticed and we'll help you understand the sensible next step.
We inspect and explain
We assess the roof properly, identify the real cause, and talk you through the work in plain English with straightforward pricing.
We complete it properly
Carried out safely and efficiently, photographed at every stage, and finished with a written guarantee for your records.
From the first phone call it was clear just how professional this company is. John came to look at the job and gave me good, honest advice and a very realistic quote.
Great professional and courteous roofers. They used the best material and carried out the work with due diligence — a guarantee of 20 years given. Skilled, honest, good craftsmen. I would recommend this company to anybody.
The work was carried out in a most professional manner, and John and his team are friendly and helpful to the extreme.
The family behind the name
A local family business,
not a call centre
J5 Roofing is run from Erdington by people who still climb the ladders themselves. When you call, you speak to the family who'll actually do the work — and when we quote, the person holding the pen has 30 years of roofs behind him.
That shapes how we work. We turn up when we say we will. We explain what we find in plain English, with photographs. And because our name is on the van and our reputation lives in the streets we work in, the finished job has to be one we'd put on our own homes.
Where we work
Ten miles around Erdington
Based in Erdington, covering Sutton Coldfield & the wider Birmingham area. Just outside? Ask — if we can do the job properly, we'll take it on.
Tell us what’s wrong with the roof.
Straight answers, a realistic price and no pressure. That’s been the deal for 30 years.
