EPDM rubber roofing
EPDM rubber roofing in Sutton Coldfield & Birmingham
EPDM is the system we recommend most often for flat roofs: a single-piece rubber membrane with very little that can go wrong. Fitted properly, it quietly outlasts almost everything else on the market.

Why we fit more EPDM than anything else
Ask us which flat roof system we'd put on our own homes and the answer is usually EPDM. It's a synthetic rubber membrane, typically laid in one piece, so the weakest point of any flat roof — the joins — simply don't exist on most domestic jobs.
It copes with the things British roofs actually face: freeze–thaw winters, summer UV, and the odd week of standing water when the gutters block. It doesn't crack like old felt, it never needs re-painting, and maintenance is essentially clearing leaves off it once in a while.
We fit EPDM on extensions, garages, dormers, bay roofs and commercial units across Sutton Coldfield, Erdington and Birmingham. It's also the natural partner for roof lanterns and skylights — we seal the upstands with proper manufacturer trims, not mastic and hope.

Common questions
Manufacturers rate EPDM at 30–50 years, and many early installations from the 1980s are still going. We fit it to last and back our workmanship with guarantees of up to 20 years, in writing.
Only if the roof beneath is dry and structurally sound — and honestly, that's the exception rather than the rule. We normally strip to the deck, replace any soft boards and lay over new OSB3. It costs a little more on day one and saves a great deal later.
It's our first choice for both. Garages and single-storey extensions suit the one-piece membrane perfectly, and most are measured, stripped and re-roofed inside one or two days.
It depends on the size of the roof, the state of the deck below and the number of details like skylights or wall abutments. The survey is free and the quote is fixed — the number we give you is the number you pay.
